RESORT REPORT FORM

Welcome to the Where to Ski and Snowboard resort report filing system for the 2009/10 season. Please don't file reports based on trips in earlier seasons.

We hope you'll find the reporting process painless. Remember, the best 100 reports win a free copy of the next edition of Where to Ski and Snowboard AND go into the hat for a chance to win a week in a premium apartment in a big French resort next season – more details on our main website.

The lower part of this page asks for some essential information about your trip and yourself. Sorry, but these fields are "required". Then there are six further pages. Once you have completed the required fields on this page, you can move around between the pages using the buttons at the bottom of each page. You might find it helpful to look through the whole form, to get a clear idea of what these pages contain before you start.

Note that you can also save a part-completed form, using the links at the top or bottom, and resume either immediately or later (you'll be asked for a password). This is quite a good idea, to prevent loss of your info if you lose your connection to our server.

The other six pages mainly cover:

  • the resort as a whole, and our view of it
  • the resort village: what you liked and disliked
  • the mountain: what you liked and disliked
  • getting around the mountain
  • individual establishments – an infinitely expandable page
  • feedback on this form.

It is really helpful if you confine remarks on hotels, restaurants, ski schools, kindergartens etc to the "individual establishments" page designed for the purpose, rather than embedding them in other fields.

YOU AND YOUR TRIP

dd/mm/yyyy

Finally (for this page), it would be helpful to know roughly how many winter sports resorts you have visited in your whole skiing/boarding career.

RESORT OVERVIEW

The major resort chapters in Where to Ski and Snowboard start with about a dozen comparative ratings and lists of factors for and against the resort. Here, we're inviting you to suggest changes or additions to those bits of the book. You can review these ratings and lists by going to the resort pages of www.wtss.co.uk if you don't have the current edition to hand. For smaller resorts, we don't publish ratings and +/- points, so you can ignore the first two fields on this page.

Leaving aside the Cost ratings, our ratings have the following meanings, roughly:

  1. best avoided for this aspect
  2. a distinct weakness
  3. OK
  4. a positive attraction
  5. outstanding

Now tell us about aspect of the resort that came as a surprise, whether welcome or not.

If you have further observations on our resort overview that don't belong in the fields above, put them in the field below. Bear in mind, though, that the two following pages give you lots of space for detailed observations on the village and the mountain. For now, try to stick to remarks related to our overview of the resort; you can always come back to this field later.

VIEWS ON THE RESORT VILLAGE

On this page, please deal only with general qualities of the village - the following pages deals with the slopes, lifts etc, and a further page allows you to file reports on individual establishments in the village.

Now, tell us

  • what aspects of the village you especially liked
  • what aspects you especially disliked, and
  • what you thought of the off-slope leisure facilities – skating, swimming etc

VIEWS ON THE MOUNTAIN - PART 1

Now, tell us

  • what aspects of the mountain you especially liked
  • what aspects of it you especially disliked, and
  • what your favourite runs were - and why!

You're on the highlighted page: Page 1 • Page 2 • Page 3 • PAGE 4 • Page 5 • Page 6 • Page 7

VIEWS ON THE MOUNTAIN - PART 2

Now, tell us what you thought about

  • accuracy of run classification (blue, red, black ...)
  • standard of signposting and marking of runs, and of the piste map
  • the efficiency of the lifts, identifying particular problem lifts.

The next page is where we hope you will report on individual establishments, but if you have any general observations on the mountain restaurants you can enter them here.

VIEWS ON INDIVIDUAL ESTABLISHMENTS

Now tell us about individual bars, restaurants, hotels, ski schools, kindergartens etc. Feel free to give us secondhand reports from people you travelled with or met in the resort, making it clear when you are doing so. Please identify as clearly as possible the establishment your report covers - if you don't know the name of a mountain restaurant, say where it is.

Your views on one particular establishment

To add further entries, click on "Add another response", above. You can do this as many times as you like, but the link appears in only one place, after the first entry - so you may need to scroll back up the page to get to the link.

AND FINALLY ...

Well, you made it to the end - thank you!

You can move back through the pages of the form to review what you have told us, and if in doing so you feel you want to add something, you could stick it in the Anything else? field on the first page - but you'll have to come back here to hit the Submit button.

Any feedback you want to offer on the process of filing your report with this form should go in the field below.
